Hasan Baharun Semasa remaja beliau senang berorganisasi baik Remaja Masjid ataupun organisasi lainnya seperti Persatuan Pelajar Islam PII bahkan beliau pernah diutus untuk mengikuti Muktamar I PII se-Indonesia yang diselenggarakan di Semarang. Dan pernah menjabat Ketua Pandu Fatah Al Islam di Sumenep. beliau aktif pula di partai politik yaitu Partai NU Nahdlatul Ulama dan menjadi jurkam yang dikenal berani dan tegas menyampaikan kebenaran. Dan di Pasuruan menjabat sebagai Ketua Majlis Ulama Indonesia MUI sampai akhir hayat Perjalanan dan Konsep Dakwah Ust. Hasan BaharunSetelah menamatkan sekolah beliau sering mengikuti ayahnya ke Masalembu untuk berda’wah sambil membawa barang dagangan. Keluarga Ustadz Hasan pada saat itu dikenal ramah dan ringan tangan, apabila ada orang yang tidak mampu membayar hutangnya disuruh membayar semampunya bahkan dibebaskan. Sifat-sifat inilah yang diwarisi beliau yang dikenal apabila berdagang tidak pernah membawa untung karena senantiasa membebaskan orang-orang yang tidak mampu pada waktu berkeliling menjajakan dagangan beliau dikenal suka membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan dan konflik yang terjadi dimasyarakat serta senantiasa berusaha mendamaikan orang dan tokoh-tokoh masyarakat yang tahun 1966 beliau merantau ke Pontianak berda’wah keluar masuk dari satu desa ke desa yang lainnya dan melewati hutan belantara yang penuh lumpur dan rawa-rawa namun dengan penuh kesabaran dan ketabahan semua itu tidak dianggapnya sebagai rintangan . Dengan penuh kearifan dan bijaksana dikenalkannya dakwah Islam kepada orang-orang yang masih awam terhadap Islam. Dan alhamdulillah dakwah yang beliau lakukan mendapat sambutan yang cukup baik dari masyarakat ataupun tokoh-tokoh lainnya. Di setiap daerah yang beliau masuki untuk berdakwah beliau senantiasa bersilaturahmi terlebih dajhulu kepada tokoh masyarakat dan ulama/kyai setepat untuk memberitahu sekaligus minta izin untuk berdakwah di daerah tersebut sehingga dengan budi pekerti, akhlaq dan sifat-sifat yang terpuji itulah masyarakat beserta tokohnya banyak yang simpati dan mendukung terhadap dakwah yang beliau waktu melakukan dakwah beliau senantiasa membawa seperangkat peralatan pengeras suara Loadspeaker/Sound System yang pada saat itu memang masih langka di Pontianak sehingga dengan hal itu tidak merepotkan yang punya hajat/mengundangnya untuk mencari sewaan pengeras suara. Dan tak lupa pula beliau membawa satir/tabir untuk menghindari terjadinya ikhtilat percampuran antara laki-laki dan perempuan dan perbuatan maksiat/dosa lainnya yang akan menghalang-halangi masuknya hidayah Allah SWT., sedangklan pahala dakwah yang beliau lakukan belum tentu diterima Allah yang beliau lakukan adalah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya dan dijadikan sarana pendekatan untuk berdakwah kepada masyarakat. Kedermawanan dan belas kasihnya kepada orang yang tidak mampu menyebabkan dagangannya tidak pernah berkembang karena keuntungannya diberikan kepada masyarakat yang tidak mampu serta membebaskan orang yang tidak mampu membayarnya. Selain itu pula beliau mempunyai keahlian memotret dan cuci cetak film yang beliau gunakan pula sebagai daya tarik dan mengumpulkan massa untuk didakwahi, karena pengambilan hasil potretan yang beliau lakukan sudah ditentukan waktunya, sehingga aabila mereka sudah berkumpul sambil menunggu cuci cetak selesai waktu menunggu tersebut diisi dengan ceramah dan tanya jawab masalah berdakwah beliau aktif pula di partai politik yaitu Partai NU Nahdlatul Ulama dan menjadi jurkam yang dikenal berani dan tegas di dalam menyampaikan kebenaran sehingga pada saat itu sempat diperiksa dan ditahan. Namun pada saat itu masyarakat akan melakukan demonstrasi besar-besaran apabila beliau tidak segera dikeluarkan dan atas bantuan pamannya sendiri yang saat itu aktif di Golkar membebaskan beliau dari tahanan. Dan tak lama setelah kejadian tersebut, sekitar tahun 1970 atas permintaan dan perintah dari ibundanya, beliau pulang ke Madura dan disuruh untuk berdakwah di Madura atau di Pulau Jawa saja. Namun karena kegigihan beliau selama 2 tahun masih tetap aktif datang ke Pontianak untuk berdakwah walaupun telah menetap di Jawa tahun 1972 beliau mengajar di Pondok Pesantren Gondanglegi Malang mengembangkan Bahasa Arab, sehingga pondok Gondanglegi pada saat itu terkenal maju dalam bidang Bahasa Arabnya. 1 2 3 4 5 Lihat Humaniora Selengkapnya Pesantren Darullughah wad Da'wah PP Dalwa adalah peninggalan Habib Hasan Baharun yang tak ternilai untuk kemajuan pendidikan Islam. Dari sini telah melahirkan banyak ulama yang mendakwah Islam ke berbagai kawasan. Guru Besar Universitas Ibrahimy Jawa Timur Prof Habib Muhammad Baharun menjadi saksi kegigihan Abuya Habib Hasan Baharun. "Saya sendiri pada awal perintisan Dalwa mengajar di sekolah tinggi, ikut membidani berdirinya STAI Dalwa yang lalu jadi IAI. Abuya Habib Hasan Baharun itu adalah seorang da'i dan pejuang pendidikan pesantren yang ulet," kata Prof Baharun kepada Republika, beberapa hari lalu. Sebelum berdirinya pesantren Dalwa, Habib Hasan Baharun memang telah malang melintang dalam dunia dakwah. Sejak muda, ulama kelahiran Sumenep, 11 Juni 1934, itu telah berdakwah ke daerah pelosok di Kalimantan. Bahkan, ia pun membawa semangat dakwahnya ketika terjun aktif berpolitik. Sempat kembali ke tanah kelahirannya dan berdakwah di Madura, Habib Hasan kembali merantau dan mengajar di sejumlah pondok pesantren, seperti Sidogiri, Pasuruan, Pesantren Salafiyah asy Syafi'iyah Asembagus Situbondo, dan Pesantren Langitan Tuban. Hingga kemudi an pada 1981, bertempat di rumah kontrakannya di Bangil, Pasuruan, Habib Hasan dibantu sejumlah keluarga dan kerabat mengajar beberapa orang santri. "Bermodal keikhlasan, keuletan, dan ketawadhuan, akhir 1981 mendirikan ponpes di rumah kontrakan Bangil dengan santri 26 orang. Dengan kesabaran mendidik dan ketulusan, dia mencetak karakter santri yang mumpuni dan mandiri," kata Prof Baharun. Habib Hasan Baharun pun mendapat kepercayaan masyarakat hingga santri bertambah. Habib Hasan Baharun mendapat petunjuk dari Sayid Muhammad bin Alawi al-Maliki al Hasani untuk mengembangkan pesantren. Hingga kemudian Pesantren Dalwa pun berdiri tepatnya di Raci, Bangil, Pasuruan. Jumlah santri pada waktu itu sebanyak 186 orang yang terdiri atas 142 putra dan 48 putri. Habib Hasan Baharun wafat pada 8 Shafar 1420 H atau 23 Mei 1999. Pesantren Dalwa kemudian diasuh oleh putranya, yakni Habib Zain bin Hasan Baharun, yang merupakan murid asuhan Almarhum Abuya Sayid Muhammad, Habib Segaf Baharun, dan Habib Ali Baharun. Hingga saat ini, lahan yang ada terus berkembang dan telah hampir terisi penuh oleh bangunan sarana pendidikan dan asrama santri. "Abuya ini selain sebagai pendidik yang kuat, beliau seorang da'i dan penulis. Buah penanya ada belasan judul, khususnya buku-buku pelajaran bahasa Arab dan agama," katanya.
